IABA details Bi-Annual Convention and Technology Exhibition

The Indiana Autobody Association (IABA) has released information of the three tracks designed for the first Bi-Annual Convention and Technology Exhibition.

The Indiana Autobody Association (IABA) has released information of the three tracks designed for the first Bi-Annual Convention and Technology Exhibition.

They include:

Track 1: Owners, managers, estimators and educators

Track 2: Metal, mechanical, frame technicians, apprentices and students

Track 3: Refinishing technicians, apprentices and students

Track 1 events:
 Friday Night, October 9th beginning at 4:00pm: Spend time talking with the sponsors and vendors that have supported the convention and exhibition during the open reception. Also spend time looking at the "nice rides" from the local car clubs in their "Cruising Event" outside the show entrance (track 2 and 3, of course, also include the car show and products exhibition). There are additional technical presentations scheduled as well on Friday night. See Track 2 & 3 below for details.

Saturday, October 10th beginning at 8:00 am: A key industry update will be given by Greg Coccaro, North State Customs about his legal battles with Progressive Insurance Company. Also, Mike Anderson will be providing a two hour seminar on “Positioning Yourself." Seating is very limited to these programs, and no additional attendees will be allowed into these events if not registered.

Along with these programs, refinishing updates in each of the four spray booths areas are scheduled by Martin-Senour, Akzo-Nobel, DuPont, and Sherwin Williams (see Track 3 below).

In addition, hands-on live demonstrations will be provided by 3M, Kent Automotive, Miller, and more (see Track 2 below). The newest I-CAR Course, New Vehicles for 2010 (NEW10) is being offered as well Saturday morning.

And if you purchase just one raffle ticket, throughout the day, drawings will be held for many door prizes and the final $15,000, $7,500 and $2,400 snap-on tools drawing sponsored by Lincoln College of Technology will be held at 4:00 pm.

Track 2 Events: Friday Night October 9th begins at 4:00 pm with the opportunity to see the latest equipment and tools in the Industry. Some of the top providers of collision repair equipment and tools are displaying. At 5:00 pm, a special seminar on the new Ford F-150 Truck, Camaro and Challenger will begin.

Saturday, October 10th beginning at 8:00 am. Saturday will kick off with another advanced technology program at 9:00 am at the hands-on demonstration area - D1. 3M will have three live hands-on training sessions beginning at 10:00 am, 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm at the hands-on demonstration area - D2. Kent Automotive will also have two live hands-on training sessions beginning at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm at the hands-on demonstration area - D3. A number of exhibitors are planning advanced welding and cutting equipment demonstrations 
in their booths (ST-1 and ST-2) as well as in the welding area by equipment manufacturers.

Track 3 Events: Friday Night October 9th begins at 4:00 pm with the opportunity to see the latest equipment and tools in the Industry. At 5:00 pm Rob Smith, a well renowned trainer and airbrush master with Martin-Senour, will be conducting a two-hour program called Planet Color. This program will include basic airbrush techniques and hands-on activities in Booth PM-10.

Saturday, October 10th beginning at 8:00 am: Martin-Senour, Akzo-Nobel, DuPont, and Sherwin Williams will have live demonstrations and presentations at their booth locations at PM-10, PM-20, PM-30, PM-40. Waterborne demonstrations, quick repair systems, and booth and airflow technology will be covered throughout these presentations. In addition, 3M will have three live hands-on training sessions beginning at 10:00 am, 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm at the hands-on demonstration area - D2. Kent Automotive will also have two live hands-on training sessions beginning at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm at the hands-on demonstration area - D3.
