WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has developed an overview of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s newly published Auto Body Refinishing Regulation. The ASA Collision Division Operations Committee has made available for members a document addressing compliance questions for independent automotive repair shops in the United States.

This regulation applies to all shops in the United States that perform surface coatings. The document also generally addresses the timeline and actions necessary for compliance, the equipment and training requirements and the records shops must maintain.

This two-page outline is available to ASA members in the “Members Only” section of the ASA Web site, www.ASAshop.org. To view the entire refinishing regulation, visit ASA’s legislative Web site, www.TakingTheHill.com.
