Audi Collision Repair Network requires I-CAR training

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — The Audi Collision Repair Network in the United States is requiring two techs from every Audi-approved repair shop to complete I-CAR Live Online Training and Qualification Tests as part of their Audi certification.

I-CAR President and CEO Tom McGee said, "What started out as I-CAR working together with Audi to train technicians on the repair of the A8 for their Aluminum Repair Network has now grown to include many I-CAR training programs that are available to the entire collision industry. As this relationship continues to expand, not only will it benefit the owners of Audi vehicles, but it also continues to expand the availability of recommended Audi repair procedures to independent collision repair businesses, insurers, and everyone else involved in the repair process."

Audi requires the following I-CAR training programs as part of the Audi Collision Repair Network:

•    Advanced High-Strength Steel Overview Materials (AHS01) – To be released - Online Training program – available August, 2006

•    Hazardous Materials, Personnel Safety, and Refinish Safety (WKR01)

•    Trim and Hardware (TRM01)

•    Corrosion Protection (CPS01)

•    Cosmetic Straightening Steel (STS01)

•    Cosmetic Straightening Aluminum (STA01)

•    Plastic Adhesive Repair (PLA02)

•    Measuring (MEA01)

•    Squeeze-Type Resistance Spot Welding (WCS04)

•    Structural Straightening Steel (SSS01)

•    Steel Unibody Front and Rear Rails, Floors, and Front Structure (SPS01)

•    Steel Unibody A-,B-,C-, D-Pillars, and Rocker Panels (SPS02)

•    Stationary Glass (GLA02)

•    Steel GMA (MIG) Welding (WCS01)

•    Automotive Steel GMA (MIG) Welding Qualification Test Prep (WCS02)

OR

•    Structural Parts Steel Qualification Test Prep (SPS04)

AND

•    Automotive Steel GMA (MIG) Welding Qualification Test (WCS03)

OR

•    Structural Parts Steel Qualification Test (SPS05)
