ITW Permatex, Inc., a leader in innovative chemical technology for automotive maintenance and repair, has just acquired Anaeróbicos S.A., a privately owned, leading maker of adhesives and sealants, headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Anaeróbicos has been manufacturing silicones, cyanoacrylates, anaerobics, adhesives, and other sealants since 1972.

"Anaeróbicos is an excellent acquisition for Permatex because it further expands our business base in Argentina and Brazil," said Mike Zimmerman, general manager of Permatex.

John Deges, currently Director of Sales and Marketing for Permatex Europe, will head the Anaeróbicos operation. Deges, an Argentine native, will be moving to Buenos Aires for this new assignment.

Anaeróbicos S.A. operates two industrial plants, a raw materials production facility in San Luis, Argentina and a headquarters and manufacturing facility in San Martin, Buenos Aires province. The Buenos Aires plant also houses the company's central offices, state-of-the-art R&D laboratory, and collapsible aluminum tubes manufacturing. The company employs more than 185 people in Argentina and Brazil.

Anaeróbicos produces products under its own brand names of Trabasil, Ciano, Siloc, W80, and Pegamil. In Argentina, Anaeróbicos has a strong presence in many markets including mass merchandise, consumer, and automotive.

Permatex is business unit of the Performance Polymers and Fluids Division of Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW). The company consists of approximately 750 business units in 49 countries and employs more than 55,000 people.
