Hankook Tire America Corp. is raising prices by a weighted average of 7 percent on its full line of passenger car and light truck tires, and by a weighted average of 9 percent on its medium duty truck tires.

The amount of the increases will vary by product line and size.

The price increase will take effect March 15 for medium duty truck tires. The increases on shipments of car and light truck tires begin April 1.

“While Hankook remains committed to managing its manufacturing and distribution expenses,” according to the company, “the continuing increases in the costs of energy, raw materials and transportation makes it necessary to make this price adjustment.”
