A follow-up conference call has been held among tire maker participants in a December Tire Industry Association (TIA) focus group relating to the segment’s presence at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.
“The call was lively and productive,” reports TIA President Wayne Croswell, who moderated the meeting. “The manufacturers are very forthcoming with recommendations and we are anxious to move this process along.”
TIA officials will now compile the feedback and organize a selection of various viewpoints and ideas, which will then be presented to their SEMA counterparts prior to mid-February. The Las Vegas SEMA Show is held in the fall.
The tire organization “is well aware that we must act in a timely fashion if we are to identify and formulate any recommendations to SEMA, and we are well on our way to achieving this,” says TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield.
“We are pleased that SEMA is open to our input, and we believe this will only help in continuing to make the SEMA show a valuable event to the tire industry,” he adds.
