Mauro Pessi has been selected to become the new CEO of Pirelli Tire North America. He is replacing Hugh Pace, who is retiring after serving as chairman and CEO of the company for nearly three years.

Pace will remain chairman until stepping down at the end of the year. Pessi is to assume the CEO duties on Oct. 1.

The appointment marks Pessi’s rejoining of Pirelli after he left the firm last year to become CEO at Brembo Corp.

Previously at Pirelli, Pessi had been vice president of sales and marketing before being promoted to CEO of the company’s Latin American operations.
