Yokohama's Las Vegas SEMA Show booth promises to be 'where the action is'

Yokohama Tire Corp. is using its presence at the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show (SEMA Booth 41029) to launch three new tires – two that are environmentally friendly and one that is ultra-high-performance; host dealers at its annual Beat the Odds blackjack tournament; plus it will feature off-road champions Cameron and Heidi Steele signing autographs for attendees.

“We are using the SEMA Show to highlight our technical innovations, product development and environmental commitment,” says Fred Koplin, director of marketing communications. “SEMA’s an important show for us to reach dealers and the media and let them know what we are doing.”

Yokohama’s SEMA Show highlights include:

  • Launching the new ADVAN ultra-high-performance tire.
  • The introduction of two environmentally-friendly tires: The dB Super E-spec passenger tire and an experimental Eco Race Tire.
  • The Beat the Odds tire dealer blackjack tournament, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 5-7 p.m. One lucky dealer will walk with the grand prize, a new Superformance MKIII equipped with Yokohama 19-inch S.drive tires. The 425-horsepower car has a Roush 327 cubic inchV8 and is worth more than $70,000. Second- and third-place winners will receive $5,000 and $1,000, respectively.
  • Yokohama-sponsored off-road champions Cameron and Heidi Steele will be signing autographs in the booth on Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

A bevy of vehicles fitted with Yokohama tires will be on display in the booth. They include:

  • A Ford Flex with Parada Spec-X 265/35R22 tires.
  • A Wald’s Black Bison Mercedes Benz S 63 AMG with ADVAN Sport 255/30R22 and 295/25R22 tires.
  • A Porsche 911 GT3 with ADVAN Neova 235/35R19 and 295/30R19 tires.
  • A Studie AG BMW Z4 M Coupe with ADVAN Sport 255/30R19 and 275/40R19 tires.
  • A Superformance MK III with S.drive 245/35R19 and 285/30R20 tires.
  • Heidi Steele’s Ford Ranger SCORE 7SX Race Truck with Geolandar M/T+ 35x12.50R15LT tires.

Mark Chung, Yokohama’s director of strategic marketing, is part of a “Fueling the Green Movement” panel discussion on Monday, Nov. 3, 8:30-10 a.m., Las Vegas Convention Center Room N265.

The company is sponsoring the Tire Industry Association (TIA) welcome reception on Monday, Nov. 3, 6:30-9:30 p.m., The Living Room at Planet Hollywood.

Yokohama is also sponsoring the Scion party on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 10 p.m.-4 a.m., Prive Nightclub at Planet Hollywood.
