It used to be that the only option to finance business growth of your business was to go to the local bank, hat in hand, and ask (or beg) for a loan. This process often leaves the impression that banks are in the business of denying, rather than extending, loans. To those lucky enough to get a loan, the process felt byzantine and was riddled by seemingly endless data requests and forms to fill out.

“Recently, I had a conversation with a lender on behalf of a client to fund HALF A MILLION dollars in the form of an UNSECURED loan,” said Brad Mewes. “The lender indicated that he could make a lending decision in less than a week and was very excited about the opportunity to transact with this business. Now, you're probably thinking that my client is a large successful business. But the reality is that my client has only a few million in revenue, ran into a hard patch, over extended himself by taking on too much debt, and couldn't make payroll.”

Right now, in North America, there is $40 Billion of direct lending funds looking to go to work somewhere. While most in the industry have heard of private equity, few have heard of private debt. In this presentation Brad will share the various ways to finance growth, how the rise of private equity has led to an increase in private debt, different types of lenders, and how companies large and small can best position themselves to access these funds to grow their business.
