Chrysler approves PPG low-VOC etch primers

Jan. 15, 2010

Jan. 15, 2010--PPG Automotive Refinish announced two new etch primers have been approved by Chrysler Group for warranty repairs on its vehicles.

OneChoice SX1071 and Nexa Autocolor P565-9880 are low-VOC, two-component, acid etch primers designed for adhesion and corrosion resistance to steel and aluminum surfaces.

The etch primers are 5.5 pounds-per-gallon VOC products that are compliant with the low-VOC auto refinish regulations in California. Both products include fast dry formula and are chromate free.

“Meeting the high quality and durability benchmarks Chrysler demands is challenging,” said Kevin Loop, PPG OEM business development manager. “SX1071 and P565-9880 will help collision repair and refinish centers deliver vehicle finishes equal in appearance to the OEM finish.”

Chrysler approved PPG product lines include Global Refinish System, Deltron, Nexa Autocolor and OneChoice, according to PPG.
