Boyd Group’s executive chairman retires

Oct. 19, 2011—The Boyd Group Income Fund recently announced the retirement of Terry Smith from his positions as executive chairman and member of the board of trustees.

Smith’s retirement was effective Oct. 15.

"We would like to thank Terry for over two decades of service to the Boyd Group, and wish him the best in his retirement and future endeavors,” said Brock Bulbuck, president and CEO of the Boyd Group. “As Boyd's founder, Terry was instrumental in building a leader in the North American automotive collision repair industry.”

The Boyd Group is the largest operator of collision repair centers in North America, according to the company. The Boyd Group operates locations in four Canadian provinces under the trade name Boyd Autobody & Glass, and operates locations in 13 U.S. states under the trade names Gerber Collision & Glass, True2Form and Cars Collision. The company also operates Gerber National Glass Services, an auto glass repair and replacement referral business with about 3,000 affiliated service providers.
