Study: 25.5% of dealerships use Facebook, 10.9% use Twitter

Feb. 9, 2010--Chrysler is the top Facebook user out of dealership brands in America, according to a study by GOSO, a web and social media company based in Washington, D.C.

The study shows that 25.5 percent, or 5,155, of U.S. automotive dealerships have a Facebook page, and 10.9 percent, or 2,195, have a Twitter account. According to a 2009 report by the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), 20,010 automotive dealerships sell new and used vehicles in the U.S.

Buick, Chevrolet, Mazda and Jeep round out the top five Facebook users, according to GOSO. Toyota is the top brand on Twitter followed by Chevrolet, Honda, Nissan and Ford.
