Wisconsin Governor Signs Bill Against Insurer Steering

Nov. 19, 2015—Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker signed 49 bills into law on Nov. 11, including Senate Bill 93, that prohibits an insurer from requiring that repairs be made at a particular shop.
Senate Bill 93 requires that insurance companies cover automobile repairs at any facility the consumer chooses, not only at contracted or preferred repair facilities.
The bill was authored by Senator Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green) and Representative Edward Brooks (R-Reedsburg).
Senate Bill 93 passed the Senate on a voice vote and was concurred by the Assembly on a voice vote.
