Farmers Insurance Supports Ed. Foundation with Donation

Sept. 19, 2016

Sept. 19, 2016—Farmers Insurance plans to donate 30 salvage vehicles to the Collision Repair Education Foundation to train future collision repair technicians at technical training centers across the country.

Each donated vehicle will be repaired and sold, and Farmers will donate the proceeds to the Ed. Foundation to purchase essential equipment and supplies.

"Our work with the Collision Repair Education Foundation gives Farmers the opportunity to help support repair collision education and the careers of future repair specialists," Gerry Poirier, national auto physical damage strategy manager for Farmers Insurance, said. "The donated vehicles will serve as a valuable resource for students to learn skills required for careers in the auto collision industry.”

"We look forward to delivering each and every salvage vehicle to training centers across the country," Melissa Marscin, director of grant programs at the Ed. Foundation, said. "We are thankful to be collaborating with Farmers Insurance to continue our mission of delivering vehicles to the centers throughout the 2016 school year."

The first training center to receive a vehicle will be the Lake Career and Technical Center in Camdenton, Mo.
