SCRS Quick Tip: Tire Inflation impact on Calibration

Tire pressure may seem like a small detail, but when it comes to vehicle calibrations, it plays a critical role. In this video from Society of Collision Repair Specialists, Josh McFarlin of AirPro Diagnostics and Michael Giarrizzo of DCR Systems discuss how improper tire pressure can alter a vehicle’s attitude, affecting its rake, ride height, and ultimately the accuracy of calibration procedures. 

From uneven tire pressures to variations in fuel level and payload, even subtle changes in how a vehicle sits can significantly influence sensor alignment and target positioning. McFarlin highlights how shop floor conditions, such as slopes created by floor drains, can compound these issues leading to inaccurate calibrations.
