ADAS Setup and Reverse Lookup Guide Use the ADAS Vehicle coverage and calibration guide to quickly reference vehicle make, model, and year for guidance on the calibration pattern, target, or component needed for specific safety system calibration and to view the vehicle-to-target or -component distance requirements. First, select your Autel ADAS product from the Product menu. Then select your specific vehicle by Manufacturer, Model, and Model Year to view associated ADAS targets, patterns, and components, along with information for calibrating the ADAS system on your vehicle. ADAS Shop Space Guide Simplify ADAS calibrations with fast, vehicle-specific targeting and setup information. Access the exact patterns, components, and specifications you need to eliminate guesswork, and deliver precise, OEM-level results every time. As Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) become more common in modern vehicles, accurate calibration is more important than ever. To maintain vehicle safety, sensor accuracy, and compliance with OEM standards, it’s crucial to create an optimized calibration environment. Key factors—such as proper lighting, level flooring, minimal reflective surfaces, and reduced environmental disruptions—can all impact the quality of calibration. Below, we outline the essential elements for building a controlled and efficient ADAS calibration workspace. Lighting Poor lighting, shadows, or glare can lead to inaccurate calibration or recalibration. Flooring Unlevel or reflective floors can lead to inaccurate calibration or recalibration. Interference Lighting & Environment The type of lighting and environment you calibrate in as important as the calibration itself. Poor lighting can lead to failed or inaccurate calibrations. Ideally, your area should have high-quality LED lighting that’s free from flickers and shadows. Minimize or reduce shadows and lighting hotspots, and eliminate glare and refractions from open doors, windows, or reflective objects in or near the vehicle. Block or remove clutter, patterns, or busy looking objects placed behind targets, which can confuse sensor. Primary Lighting & Environment Goals: Uniform and Diffused Lighting Minimize Glare and Refractions Best Flooring Type As important is the flooring which needs to be level and non-reflective. Uneven or glossy floors can lead to failed or inaccurate calibrations. The best type of calibration flooring will be low-gloss and non-reflective, and durable, easy to clean, and resistant to damage. Equally important is that every vehicle is on a flat level surface. This ensures measurements and calibrations are done accurately. Primary Flooring Goals: General Floor Levelness Tolerance: Within 1/8 inch variance Ford/Lincoln: Level surface required. Honda/Acura: Less than 1° slope. Toyota/Lexus: Flat level surface mandatory. Volkswagen/Audi: Flat calibration surface. Common environmental causes of failed ADAS calibrations include cluttered backgrounds, uncontrolled outdoor lighting, and poor indoor lighting. Below are examples of calibrations that failed due to these conditions. Ready to get started? Contact our ADAS experts Thank you for contacting Autel. Please allow 24 hours for a response. And that is because each component is engineered to work as part of the whole. Each component of the system is dependent upon the specificity of the other to produce accurate calibrations that are verifiable to OE specifications. Further, the Autel ADAS calibration software was developed for our systems only. The use of non-Autel components with our software will result in inaccurate calibrations. It’s vital to understand the precise nature by which these safety systems, cameras and sensors operate. Alignment and calibrations that are off by as little as one degree can result in up to 1.5-meter lateral miscalculations at 100-meter distance between vehicles. Such inaccuracies can lead to false ADAS interventions or accidents. Shops knowingly calibrating vehicles with mismatched calibration components are fully responsible for calibration errors and will assume liability. Autel technical support staff will not support or assist in any calibration that uses non-Autel branded ADAS calibration products.
