Fix Auto USA Participates in California Career Fair
Fix Auto USA store locations in California came together to participate in a career fair for students in Long Beach, California, according to a press release.
Four shop owners that altogether own over 20 Fix Auto USA locations were a part of the Universal Technical Institute career fair to share opportunities in the company with local students.
The career fair was held alongside the Southern California I-CAR Committee and the Collision Repair Education Foundation. More than 200 students and employers were at the career fair.
Keith Going, senior director of U.S. collision insurance at Driven Brands, said that events like this are important due to the labor shortage plaguing the industry.
“In the collision repair industry, we are seeing record high levels of staffing shortages. It is crucial that we get out into the community to meet with and teach the younger generation about our trade and the possibilities they could have within the industry,” Going stated.
Going also noted that as outreach continues and new talent is discovered, it will help “diversify the industry, showing young women that this trade is inclusive of every gender.”
Event organizers were satisfied with the turnout at the career fair and are discussing plans of having it reoccur on a yearly basis.
