Toyo is now sponsoring Strikeforce Women's Welterweight Champion Miesha "Takedown" Tate.

With the Toyo logo gracing her fight shorts, Tate recently defeated Marloes Coenen live on Showtime to clinch the championship.

Tate was the 2010 WMMA (Women’s Mixed Martial Arts) Fighter of the Year.

Associated with Team Alpha Male, the 25-year old, 5-foot 6-inch Tate fights in the 135-pound weight class and has a background in wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu.

In addition to wearing the company’s logo, Tate will also conduct promotional activities via event appearances and additional marketing efforts.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Toyo Tires team,” says Tate, “and I am looking forward to representing Team Toyo.”

“We are elated Toyo Tires was a part of Miesha Tate’s Strikeforce welterweight championship win,” says Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports.

“We congratulate her on her awesome accomplishment,” he adds. “Her attitude in the cage reflects our ‘Driven to Perform’ philosophy and we look forward to being a part of her future pursuits.”
