On Thursday, July 23rd, the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) held an open board meeting in Detroit, Michigan featuring a technical presentation by SCRS Education Committee member Toby Chess focused on important aspects collision repairers should know about Pulsed Synergic MIG Welding for Aluminum. In addition to a detailed look at the science behind the unique welding process, and why more auto manufacturers are relying on it, Chess reported on a comparison of current welders available to the market and how they performed in a 1mm butt weld with a backer field test that was conducted in June 2015. A video recap of the presentation is available here.
