CCC responds to industry feedback with changes to Secure Share

Jan. 22, 2018
The company announced changes to its CCC Secure Share network (Secure Share), which leverages a cloud-based platform to enable the secure distribution of data between collision repairers and third-party application providers.

After listening to customers and industry stakeholders, CCC Information Services Inc. (CCC) announced it will continue its support for the export of Estimate Management Standard (EMS) files. The company also announced changes to its CCC Secure Share™ network (Secure Share), which leverages a cloud-based platform to enable the secure distribution of data between collision repairers and third-party application providers.

"We talked about changes to Secure Share based on feedback. It was an opportunity to make Secure Share a better solution for the industry," said Mark Fincher, Vice President of Market Solutions at CCC. Changes to Secure Share announced include:

  • Secure Share Fees Eliminated. CCC has eliminated fees for Secure Share creating an environment where participants can share data securely with their chosen partners at no cost.
  • Secure Share Terms Revised. CCC has updated its Secure Share terms of agreement based on direct feedback from app providers while maintaining a safe, reliable platform.

“CCC is committed to facilitating efficient, collaborative, and secure communication between our customers and the business partners they rely on to operate successfully,” said Fincher. “We’ve had ongoing discussions with customers and industry stakeholders on the best ways to do that and today’s announcement is in response to that feedback. Repairers and application providers will now have more choice and flexibility in how they work with one another.”

Fincher discussed the changes again at CIC in Palm Springs this month, beginning with dropping the fees. "We saw that it was inevitable that the cost was going to be passed on to our customers, and it was also a barrier to entry in adopting Secure Share," he said during a panel presentation.

"The second key change was to the contracts themselves. We made changes to those agreements and have gotten positive feedback from app providers," he said. "We have an advisory council, will continue to make changes and take feedback to continue enhancing the software."
