CAPA adds Tim Adelmann to board

CAPA elected Tim Adelmann of ABRA to its board, replacing Mike West, who recently retired and closed his repair shop business in Tukwila, Wash.

“Tim Adelmann is a long-standing and respected leader in the collision repair industry and we are excited to have him join CAPA’s efforts to insure that the market has truly high quality alternative parts,” said Jack Gillis, CAPA’s Executive Director. “Tim will be a valuable resource as CAPA continues to expand on its diversity of standards and growth in part availably.”

Adelmann is the Executive Vice President – Business Development at ABRA. He opened the second ABRA repair center in 1985 as general manager.

Shortly thereafter, he became Vice President of Operations and in 1997 he was named Chief Operating Officer, a position he held until July 2004. During that time he oversaw ABRA’s growth from two repair centers to eighty- eight. In July 2004 he assumed the role of Executive Vice President of Business Development and works strategically and operationally with ABRA’s clients. Prior to joining ABRA, he was the Production & Quality Manager for Micromedics Corporation in St. Paul, Minn.

Adelmann also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Collision Repair Education Foundation and Creative Living, a Columbus, Ohio, non-profit organization encouraging independent living for adults with severe physical disabilities. He maintains several strategic partnerships with Insurance Advisory Councils throughout the industry.

“Tim brings an extraordinary amount of ‘hands-on’ knowledge of the repair shop industry to CAPA’s Board. We are thrilled to have Tim join CAPA’s efforts protecting both the market and consumers from poor quality parts,” said Clark Plucinski, President of CAPA’s Board of Directors.
