The new 2020 Ram 1500 will offer an EcoDiesel option.
June 12, 2019—The new 2020 Ram 1500 will offer an EcoDiesel option, according to a report by The Detroit Free Press.
The planned engine release follows the class-action legal settlement announced earlier this year for owners of about 100,000 2014-16 EcoDiesel Ram pickups and Jeep Grand Cherokees. FCA did not admit wrongdoing, but regulators said it had installed defeat devices that allowed the vehicles to cheat emissions testing.
The diesel option will be available in all models, including the Ram Rebel for the first time, and is slated to go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year.
