AMI Celebrates 25 Years

June 18, 2014

June 18, 2014—The Automotive Management institute (AMI) announced Tuesday it is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

AMI provides management education for the automotive service and collision repair industries and currently offers more than 1,300 courses with more than 230,000 enrollments to date.

When the organization began, AMI offered 26 courses taught by 10 instructors. Today it has a faculty of 300 instructors and offers training in the form of webinars, online courses, DVD-quality downloads, self-study workbooks and in traditional classroom environments.

“After 25 years, many shop owners would not be in business if not for the management education they received from AMI,” said Steve Louden of Louden Motorcar Services Inc. in Dallas. “For them to succeed in the future, management education is a must.”

Louden is a founding AMI member and one of 1,700 industry professionals who hold the institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation.

The Institute will host special events throughout the year to mark the milestone, kicking off the celebrations at the 2014 NACE/CARS Expo & Conference June 30–Aug. 1 in Detroit.
