Michigan Repair Facility Registration Bill Passes in House

Feb. 11, 2016

Feb. 11, 2016—A bill introduced in Michigan by Rep. Peter Pettalia on March 12, 2015, H.B. 4344, passed in the House on Wednesday. H.B. 4344 would revise details in a law that impose a registration mandate on motor vehicles repair facilities.

If H.B. 4344 passes, it would rewrite and change the current rules of the Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Act, including the authorization of fines for failing to register a facility.

The bill passed 84-22 in the House.

The next step for H.B. 4344 is the Senate.
