April 8, 2011—Akzo Nobel announced Thursday that its Wanda Waterbase basecoat system will be available to the U.S. collision repair industry early in the second quarter of 2011.
The Wanda Waterbase basecoat system offers simplified mixing ratios, color documentation, and color-matching capabilities. The system also provides a low VOC option that helps shops become more eco-friendly.
The Wanda Low VOC Primer/Sealer offers color holdout, filling and sanding properties, and adhesion to substrates. It also doubles as a wet-on-wet non-sanding sealer, according to Akzo Nobel.
“The Wanda Waterbase system is a perfect complement to our family of waterborne brands and represents another great example of Akzo Nobel’s commitment to providing the collision repair industry with product options that are tailored to their needs,” said Doug Holmberg, director of sales for Akzo Nobel’s Aerospace and Automotive Coatings, Vehicle Refinish, North America.
