April 18, 2019—While the Garrett Academy of Technology in North Charleston, S.C. is scheduled to close in 2020, it'll rather quickly be replaced by a new career and technical school neary, according to a report.

School officials announced this week that Garrett Academy of Technology will close at the end of the 2019-20 school year, reported ABCnews4.com. But the area will soon get a new, similar facility located near North Charleston High School.

The Garrett Academy currently has 290 students enrolled at the school serving grades 9-12.

According to the school district, the new career school will include automotive collision repair technology, plus several technology-focused specializations.
