Chevrolet: Volt available nationwide by end of 2011

Jan. 31, 2011 — The highly hyped Chevrolet Volt should be available in all 50 states by the end of the year, Chevrolet announced last week.

The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle has already been delivered to customers in the Washington, D.C. area, California, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Texas. Michigan deliveries begin this spring.

Customers nationwide can begin ordering the car in the second quarter of the year at participating dealerships. Deliveries will start on the East Coast in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii. Chevrolet expects delivery nationwide by the end of 2011.

“We’re excited to get the car in the hands of people across the country,” the company stated.
