May 15, 2018—U.S. Air Force veteran Diana Cuesta said her life was changed when she received a car from the NABC Recycled Rides program.

Four years ago, Cuesta was limited to traveling one to two square miles in her 1995 Honda Civic. She had a low-paying kitchen job and lived in a neighborhood she did not feel was safe for her two sons.

The National Auto Body Council's Recycled Rides program gifted her a 2010 Kia Forte.

Recycled rides donations this month for National Military Appreciation month took place in  Malden, Mass.; Minneapolis; Jacksonville, N.C.; and Portland, Ore.
