Police Investigating Fatal Shooting at Ala. Body Shop

A 38-year-old man was fatally shot Monday, July 30, 2018 at a Jasper auto body shop.

August 1, 2018—A man was shot to death Monday morning at a Jasper, Ala. business, reported AL.

Jasper police responded at 9 a.m. to Dripping Wet Paint Auto and Body Shop on a report of a possible shooting, said Chief J.C. Poe. Once officers arrived on the scene at 2005 Commerce Drive, they found man had been shot, according to the report.

William Earl Ervin, 38, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Poe said investigators believe Ervin was involved in a civil dispute which led to the deadly shooting. One person has been detained for questioning.

The incident remains under investigation and the findings will be presented to the Walker County District Attorney's Office, reported AL.
