SmartDrive Unveils Video Safety Product

May 3, 2017

May 3, 2017—SmartDrive Systems, a company that specializes in driving solutions that aim to reduce collisions, recently announced new features for SmartDrive 360, the company’s solution that enables fleets to deploy additional cameras to gain 360-degree insight into risk.

With the latest release, SmartDrive 360 expands its on-demand video capability with triggering on up to four cameras simultaneously, based upon high-risk manuevers, providing insight into frequent causes of collisions. SmartDrive 360 has the ability to be offloaded in minutes and promptly reviewed by a driving analyst; Confirmed collisions and alerts are sent to customers so they can react quickly to a roadway incident. The immediate access to video is meant to allow fleets to improve their safety programs, and reduce claims processes.

“Since 35 percent of collisions are side and rear incidents, a growing number of fleets are adding more cameras to their trucks,” said Steve Mitang, CEO of SmartDrive, in a statement. “By capturing triggered video across these additional cameras, fleets can now gain immediate visibility to the highest risk—and most costly events—in and around their vehicles."
