Operative Talent is offering the chance to win a custom 1969 Camaro as part of its “Drive for Talent” fundraiser, according to a press release.
The fundraiser, taking place now through November, is a collaboration between the Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF), BASF, and KTL Restorations.
The end goal is to raise $500,000 in funds to go toward a national awareness campaign for the newly developed CollisionCareers.com website, created by I-CAR.
CREF, BASF, and KTL Restorations will be holding a cross-country drive in spring 2024 to visit collision school programs, check in with talent build partners, and more, before finally stopping in Danville, Virginia, where KTL Restorations and the Camaro are located.
The more raffle tickets that are sold, the further west the starting line of the journey will be pushed. If the fundraiser reaches its goal of $500,000, it will mean a West Coat starting line.
“It’s time to do something about the automotive tech labor shortage, and that begins with changing how the public sees the auto collision repair industry,” said CREF Executive Director Brandon Eckenrode. “For change to happen, the entire industry needs to support our industry’s future by getting behind our efforts with Operative Talent.”
