Sept. 17, 2015—Goering Center’s Family and Private Business All Star Celebration has named Cincinnati’s Center City Collision as the winner of its Family Business Award.
Center City Collision was founded by Kevin Rains, a columnist for FenderBender. Rains created a culture of caring for his employees, customers and the community when he started the business.
“Growing up I constantly saw my Dad write checks and volunteer his time for various organizations and churches,” Rains said.
For 16 years, the Goering Center has recognized the excellence of regional businesses in its version of The All Stars. The competing companies were evaluated on how they have positioned themselves for growth through cultures that leverage technology, attract and retain the best talent, and exceed customer expectations in demanding business environment. The judges selected 75 finalists from 550 nominates companies. Eighteen of those companies were recognized.
Center City Collision, located in Norwood, Ohio, took home the award for the 0-15 years in business category.
Before Rains began his career in the auto industry, he worked as a pastor. Rains helped start the Norwood Youth Rugby League, where he and others mentor young men. He does this while also caring for his employees and for his family.
“Caring is our foundational value and everything else springs out of that,” Rains said.
