Ford Motor Company recently renewed its long-time partnership with Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes through the Ford Paint and Body Technology Center. The Center, located in Inkster, Mich., assists in developing standards for collision repair for all Ford vehicles, including the research and testing of new repair materials, equipment and techniques.

This has been apparent with the launch of the Ford F-150 aluminum body truck; the facility has been instrumental in providing collision repair standards on this industry changing vehicle.      According to Jason Crager, OEM Business Development Manager for Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes, “Along with meeting Ford’s refinish product approval standard, this ongoing partnership offers us an opportunity to showcase our support of Ford and the collision industry through ongoing product and management training events held at the facility.”      The sentiments were echoed by Gerry Bonanni, Senior Engineer, Pant and Body Repair.  He said, “We’re pleased to renew our relationship with Sherwin-Williams, along with all of our sponsor vendors.  This cross functional forum allows Ford to develop the very best in collision repair techniques and procedures for the proper repair of Ford and Lincoln vehicles- something that benefits all Ford customers in the long run.” For additional information about SWAF visit www.sherwin-automotive.com.
