CARSTAR Announces Companywide Plan for Aluminum Repairs

Oct. 23, 2014

Oct. 23, 2014—CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts announced on Thursday that it has created a qualified aluminum repair consulting and certification-focused program in place for its shops to handle repairs on aluminum vehicles.

The company said in a release that it is the only MSO to have such a program, and the announcement comes as Ford gets ready to release its aluminum-bodied 2015 F-150 pickup into the market.

For the past year, CARSTAR’s operations team has been working with CARSTAR facility owners around the country to help them prepare their shops for the demands of aluminum repair, train technicians on aluminum repair processes for structural and non-structural jobs and source the tools and equipment needed for aluminum repair.

CARSTAR shops that are part of Ford dealerships are officially certified in aluminum repair through Assured Performance Network and listed as an approved facility on the Ford website.  Other CARSTAR stores are recognized for their aluminum repair training, tools and equipment per the Ford Collision Network.

“We have always been committed to leading the industry in having the best-trained collision repair professionals,” CARSTAR CEO David Byers said in a release. “This is a fundamental part of our ability to deliver the industry’s highest KPIs and customer satisfaction. As vehicle technology evolves, we must continue to provide this advanced training for our collision repair team. And, it means we can send our insurance partners and fleet providers a list of ready and capable stores to handle their repair needs.”
