Hankook has officially opened its second Canadian distribution center in Richmond, British Columbia.

The company now has eight DCs serving its North American dealer network. The new facility will support retailers and multiple distribution points throughout western Canada.

“Hankook Tire has experienced great success and a strong presence in western Canada,” says Bill Hume, vice president of Hankook Tire Canada. “We strategically chose the Vancouver region for our second distribution center to better support our retail customers and distributors, expediting our time to market. This new distribution center is an integral part of our growth strategy in Canada and part of our global long-term strategy to become a leading, next-generation tire company.”

The added presence “will provide dealers with easy access to a complete line of Hankook products, including ultra-high performance, passenger car, light truck and medium truck tires,” Hume points out. “The facility is expected to significantly reduce lead time for product delivery as the result of a competitive shipping policy which includes pre-paid delivery of qualified orders to direct-account customers.”

Hankook’s Canadian headquarters in Brampton, Ontario – which opened last spring – also houses a state-of-the-art DC. “Together these two locations will ensure that customers continue to receive the great service that they have come to expect from Hankook,” reports Hume.
