BEDFORD, Texas — The Automotive Service Association (ASA) announced a new member benefit agreement with National Processing Company (NPC), a provider of business transaction processing, from point-of-sale credit card processing to e-commerce solutions. The agreement includes special pricing for eligible ASA member businesses. NPC focuses on small- and medium-sized merchants with services that include the electronic acceptance of credit, debit, gift and loyalty cards, and electronic checks.

“NPC is both honored and excited about our partnership with ASA and will capitalize on the opportunity to deliver superior products and outstanding service to their members, not only in 2008, but beyond,” says Chris McNulty, senior vice president of strategic sales, NPC.

Accepting credit cards offers convenience benefits for ASA members and their customers. With more than 350 million transactions and $27 billion in annual processing volume, NPC is one of the largest service providers in the card-based industry, and can set up a business to accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, gasoline and fleet cards, and debit, gift and loyalty cards. In addition, the company offers a variety of equipment technologies including wireless or PC-based solutions.

“Evaluating and selecting a credit card processing firm for business use is a time-consuming task,” says B.J. Johnson, ASA’s vice president of membership services. “We have attempted to take some of the guesswork out of this process for our member businesses by adding NPC as a sponsored benefit provider for credit card processing. NPC will offer ASA members a competitive price point and quality customer service.”
