Carbon Motors Corporation has announced it will showcase the Carbon ‘E7,’ the world’s first purpose-built law enforcement patrol vehicle, during the “2009 Pure Justice Tour” of seven U.S. cities starting in Detroit, and including Denver, Colo. for the 116th Annual International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) conference.

The clean diesel vehicle features forward looking infrared (FLIR), a built-in touch screen computer with ORCA (On-board Rapid Command Architecture) and 360 degree surveillance capability, built-in high visibility LED lighting, an automatic license plate reader and radiation and biological threat detectors, among other amenities.

“It is our time. Yesterday our new President of the United States, Barack Obama, stood before citizens from across the country and asked that we stand strong against the terrorists, address the energy crisis, and innovate our way into the creation of thousands of new American jobs. Carbon Motors has answered that calling by developing the most anticipated new product in law enforcement and homeland security history," says William Santana Li, chairman and CEO, Carbon Motors Corporation. "For the first time ever, our first responders will have a truly purpose-built product offering world-class performance, unparalleled safety and a reduction in the total life cycle costs which in turn will reduce the taxpayer burden."

He adds that the Carbon ‘E7’ is expected to reduce the 1.5 billion gallons of fuel and the 14 million tons of CO2 the nation’s law enforcement fleet consumes and emits every year by 40 percent.

Carbon’s ‘E7’ was designed by law enforcement, for law enforcement. To date, more than 2,700 law enforcement professionals, representing all 50 states and each functional discipline of law enforcement, have volunteered their time to serve on the Carbon Council, which provides direct and unfiltered interaction with the Carbon Motors team.

Additionally, more than 1,000 law enforcement agencies have expressed an interest in purchasing the vehicle and have begun to place Production Slot Reservations for the Carbon ‘E7’ at www.carbonmotors.com. “With the current momentum of reservations coming in from across the nation, it is likely that our first year(s) of production will be sold out,” Li adds.

The Carbon ‘E7’ will visit seven citiers initially during the 2009 Pure Justice Tour beginning Feb. 3 in Detroit. The tour also will include stops in:

  • Atlanta, Feb. 16 – 20
  • Washington, D.C., March 11 – 12
  • New York City, New York, To Be Announced
  • Atlantic City, N.J., June 23 – 24
  • Milwaukee, Wisc., Aug. 19 – 22
  • Denver, Colo., Oct. 3 – 7

Additional dates and tour stop venue details will be made available at www.carbonmotors.com as they are finalized.
