Eligible people will receive up to $600 — $1,200 for married couples — and parents will receive an additional $300 for each eligible child younger than 17. Anyone who normally is exempted from filling out tax forms did so this year in order to receive a stimulus payment.
With the new money, now is the time to target that as the best way to take care of auto repairs. Try running stimulus check specials such as oil changes or diagnostic checks to draw people into your bays. These can lead to larger ticket repairs on which your customers can spend their stimulus checks. After all, so many repairs have been put off the last couple of years with rising gas costs.
Advertising also can be fairly easy, with simple signage and newspaper ads to attract old – and new – customers with the new money to spend.
