LEESBURG, Va. — The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has released the latest addition to its TechQuiz series with a new Parts Specialist quiz. This new offering from ASE is the fifth in the TechQuiz series, following the 2006 release of Gasoline Engines, Drive Trains, Undercar and Electrical/Electronics & HVAC.

The Parts Specialist TechQuiz measures basic knowledge related to working in a retail parts environment. The Parts quiz consists of 50 multiple-choice questions in three content areas: 1) Customer Relations and Sales Skills, 2) Product Knowledge, and 3) Business Problem Solving.

ASE says this evaluation can help individuals prepare for the ASE certification tests, or help identify areas needing improvement through targeted training. Since these are not pass/fail tests, users get a score report with details on how they did in each area.

Perhaps the greatest value of the TechQuiz product is the opportunity to experience questions asked in the ASE style. Although the quizzes are not a certification, they have been developed with the same process, rigor and high level of quality for which ASE is noted.

The new self-assessment quizzes are available through the ASE Campus online at www.asecampus.com. You can also get to the ASE Campus by going to the ASE website at www.ase.com and clicking on the ASE Campus tab. Once there, simply create a profile and you can immediately access the TechQuiz self-assessments 24/7. Each quiz costs $12.50.
