The DENSO Corporation has named Haruya Maruyama as president and CEO of DENSO International America (DIAM), DENSO's North American headquarters. Maruyama is currently serving as managing officer of DENSO Corporation and president of DENSO Automotive Deutschland GmbH (DNDE) in Eching, Germany. Maruyama will take over for Kenji Ohya, DENSO's senior managing director who is currently serving as DIAM's president, on April 1. "This is a challenging time in the automotive industry in North America and around the world," says Maruyama. "As president and CEO of DIAM, my goal is to help DENSO become the most trusted systems and component manufacturer to our customers." Maruyama began his career in DENSO's Tokyo sales office in 1978. Following a series of positions in the sales group, Maruyama was named president of DNDE in July 2002, and in June 2004, he was promoted to a managing officer of DENSO responsible for all sales activities throughout Europe. During his tenure as president of DNDE, Maruyama reinforced the organization of European sales companies and led the sales expansion of DENSO products such as air conditioners and diesel injection systems to European automakers.
