TIA/Michelin scholarship hopefuls can apply through Facebook

Potential college students interested in pursuing a scholarship offer from Michelin and the Tire Industry Association (TIA) can now apply via TIA's Facebook page.
Potential college students interested in pursuing a scholarship offer from Michelin and the Tire Industry Association (TIA) can now apply via TIA's Facebook page.

The scholarship program is open to part- time employees and dependent children of full-time employees of TIA member tire dealers. The deadline to apply is Feb. 6.

A total of $5,000 will be awarded to each of three recipients. The applicants are evaluated on three criteria: Academic achievement, extracurricular activities and community leadership qualities.

Since the program was established in 1995, Michelin has awarded more than $300,000 worth of scholarships across the country.
