CAWA awards 10 scholarships for 2010-2011

"We are pleased to be able to provide assistance to so many well-qualified and deserving candidates."

Along with Vince Contorno, Annapolis, Calif., the recipient of the Mort Schwartz Award, CAWA scholarship winners include:

  • Lee Esten, Burbank, Calif.
  • Cortney Zellman, Citrus Heights, Calif.
  • Dillon Bown, Glendale, Ariz.
  • Steven Leach, Grass Valley, Calif.
  • Raymond Pauly, Hayward, Calif.
  • Alvaro Gallego, Jr., Rio Rico, Ariz.
  • Larry Shields, Las Vegas, Nev.
  • Kevin Carone, San Ramon, Calif.
  • Stephen Stegall, Auburn, Calif.
"The recipients CAWA selected are representative of the 375 outstanding applications we received this year," said Pete Kornafel, Chairman of the GAAS Scholarship Selection Committee. "Through the efforts of CAWA and other regional associations, along with the supporters of the GAAS scholarship fund, we are able to assist these students pursuing their dreams of an automotive aftermarket career."

Applicants for CAWA's 2010-2011 awards were taken through the automotive scholarship website, www.automotivescholarships.com.
