Mitchell Makes Six Figure Donation to Education Foundation

Dec. 11, 2012

Dec. 11, 2012—Mitchell International has donated its estimating software to more than 400 U.S. collision school programs through the Collision Repair Education Foundation.

Mitchell’s in-kind donation is valued at $140,000. The Education Foundation said the software provides school collision repair instructors with modern technology that would not otherwise have been purchased due to limited program budgets.

“I am proud that Mitchell is continuing its over 60 year history of giving back to the collision industry. It is a privilege to help provide the tools to educate the next generation of collision repair technicians,” said Greg Horn, vice president of industry relations for Mitchell.

In addition, Mitchell also made a $5,000 cash donation to the Education Foundation’s Collision Repair Education Campaign fund, which is used to provide annual student scholarships, school grants and the Ultimate Collision Education Makeover $50,000 grant.

“Now more than ever do secondary and post-secondary collision school instructors need the industry’s support. School collision budgets are shrinking and yet the instructors are being asked to provide the best technical education to their students, the future professionals of the industry,” said Clark Plucinski, executive director of the Education Foundation. “I thank Mitchell International for their incredible in-kind estimating software donation to several hundred schools, as this will provide instructors with current software. Through this cooperative effort of assisting the schools with monetary and product donations, we can provide a brighter future for the industry.”
