Tech, Change and Improvement

Dec. 1, 2017
Finding new ways to push forward in 2018.

You’ve likely heard a variation of this quote before, but this version comes from Henry Ford: “If you always do what you’ve always done, then you’ll always get what you’ve always got.”

That might be one of the most oft-cited concepts in modern business, but as you pore over this December issue of FenderBender, it’d be good to keep it in mind for a couple reasons.

The first is our cover feature, which highlights the results from our 2017 Tech and Tools Survey. This is the second time we’ve conducted this survey, the first being in 2014, and the differences in results are pretty staggering. I don’t need to tell you how much the industry has advanced and changed over the past three years, but it’s evident in the results. I won’t give it away here (I suggest checking it out), but it brings me to the next point.

The end of the calendar year (and, likely, your fiscal year in the previous weeks) provides a nice, clean breaking point from what you’ve done and what you hope to do. It’s a good time to analyze your goals, measure your success and reflect on personal growth. What do you want to accomplish in 2018?

I can tell you that at FenderBender, we’re readying a full slate of new projects we’ll unveil in the coming year, from webinars and additional podcasts to enhancements to our print and digital content. As we push ourselves to improve, we want to offer the tools and strategies you need to push your own operation forward.

Improvement can be difficult, and as the quote I referenced earlier alludes to, it only comes through change. What are you going to change in 2018? What are you going to accomplish?
