Dec. 5, 2012—Allstate Insurance Co. and Sterling Autobody Centers together have committed to donate 20 refurbished vehicles to families in need this holiday season through the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) 2012 Recycled Rides program.
Each of the 20 vehicles were provided by Allstate Insurance and restored by several of Sterling’s technicians. Allstate said the vehicles will be donated to various nonprofit organizations, individuals and families in need of reliable transportation across nine U.S. states: Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Texas and Utah.
"Reliable transportation is something many of us take for granted,” said Nick Notte, president of Sterling and member of the NABC’s board of directors. "We are proud to offer our time and resources to transform lives and touch families and organizations across the country. While the gift of a vehicle provides a practical means of transportation, what it really provides is hope.”
Allstate and Sterling—a multiple shop operation with more than 60 collision repair locations throughout 16 U.S. states—have participated with the NABC’s Recycled Rides initiative for the past five years. The companies have refurbished and gifted more than 100 vehicles through the program to date.
