A National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides event that took place during the NASCAR race weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway gifted four struggling families lacking transportation with vehicles, according to a press release.
Four Toyota vehicles were donated by GEICO and restored by various Caliber Collision locations. The recipients were chosen by Speedway Children’s Charities’ Las Vegas Chapter.
Recipients include Lynette Brandon, a single mom; Pablo Sandoval, husband and father of a struggling family that immigrated from Columbia; Emilio Swann, an active-duty Marine who was raised in foster care and “lived in 20 different homes before he was 18 years old;” and Ellen Mills, a volunteer at Valley View Community Cares after the organization helped her, who has now experienced the loss of her home, vehicle and experienced health issues.
Brandon was gifted with a 2017 Toyota RAV4, with a 2019 Toyota Camry being given to the Sandovals. Swann received a 2015 Toyota Camry, and Mills was given a 2016 Toyota Prius.
The recipients were recognized during the weekend. Brandon and Sandoval were recognized on the Las Motor Speedway Fan Zone stage that Saturday. The following Sunday, Swann and Mills received their vehicles just before the Pennzoil 400 NASCAR Cup Series race on the pre-race stage.
