VehicleOwnersGuide Unveils Estimate Converter

Jan. 10, 2017

Jan. 10, 2017—VehicleOwnersGuide.com announced the release of its EstimateReader estimate converter on Monday.

EstimateReader is a web service that receives estimates, reads them using artificial intelligence and pattern recognition algorithms, organizes the information into a computer usable format, and returns the information to the sender as an XML or JSON file.

A rental car, shop management, insurance company, or refinish materials’ application can use the web service to receive the information they need to power their application.

EstimateReader is currently available for estimates, supplements and repair orders created with CCC ONE. Documents from Mitchell International, Audatex, and other sources will be available in the second and third quarters of 2017.

“EstimateReader helps eliminate re-keying by making the information on printed estimates available to other applications,” said Steven Siessman of VehicleOwnersGuide.com. “It is very helpful in situations where you need access to data, but the file format is no longer available. In some cases it is more cost effective to convert a printed document into an older format than rewrite the application to support a new format.”
