Sept. 2, 2016—The Collision Repair Education Foundation recently awarded its 2016 3M Hire Our Hero tool grants.

The foundation and 3M have partnered since 2013 to award this grant in support of the collision repair industry and American veterans. Since then, 3M has donated more than $500,000 to be used toward scholarships and tool grants for individuals who served or are serving in the military

Ivy Tech Community College Northeast automotive technology student, Ryan Folker, one of the recipients, was awarded over $4,500 in tools and equipment. Folker served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years and attained the rank of sergeant.

Folker is one of 61 winners from across the country who had the opportunity to select tools and equipment to help in his automotive repair education and toward employment after graduation.
