The Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF) has announced over $130,000 in scholarships and tool grants being awarded this year to collision repair students, according to a press release.
Over $30,000 was donated by 3M, which was put toward the $2,000 Hire Our Heroes Scholarship and three Hire Our Heroes Tool Grants (valued at $1,500 each), as well as $500 tool grants given to 50 students.
Other scholarships include this year’s Adelmann Family Scholarships and Tool Grants, which were awarded to three students. Each student received a $5,000 scholarship and $2,000 toward tools and will receive another $2,000 tool grant upon receiving a job in the industry.
The PPG Foundation awarded four students with an interest in automotive painting each with a $5,000 scholarship. BASF also awarded six tool grants, each valued at $2,000.
Five post-secondary collision student scholarships, valued at $2,000 each, were funded by OEM Roundtable. Three post-secondary students will be awarded the 2023 CCC Michael Salvatore Repair Technician Scholarship, receiving $3,000 each with funds from CCC.
Many other scholarships were awarded, resulting in nearly 90 collision students receiving support for a career in the collision industry.
