CARSTAR car wash breaks previous year’s world record

June 14, 2010

June 14, 2010—The second annual international CARSTAR Soaps It Up car wash on Saturday broke last year’s Guinness World Record for most cars washed in an eight-hour period.

The car wash, held at more than 140 CARSTAR locations across the U.S. and Canada, raised thousands of dollars for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, kids with cystic fibrosis in Canada and other market charities. Early numbers indicate that 4,100 cars were washed in eight hours, breaking last year’s record of 4,000 cars.

"We are proud to once again hold the CARSTAR Soaps It Up car wash across North America to benefit the communities where we do business," said Dick Cross, chairman and CEO of CARSTAR. "It has become a great tradition to bring all of the CARSTAR nation together to support these two important causes."
